Irish Aid is coordinating its Our World Irish Aid Awards for primary schools in Ireland. The overall purpose of the programme is to raise awareness among Irish pupils of the lives of children and their families in developing countries. By taking part, children can learn how Ireland works with these countries as partners for development.
We had an opportunity to visit Ireland through Leonardo Project and contact between KADE and Kainuun Ammattiopisto. Ms Mary McGillicuddy from KADE friendly arranged us the placement in Bud's Family and Community Centre.

Why not come along to our interactive, participatory workshop which will explore why global trade is unfair, and how things need to change so poor countries can move out of poverty.

Africa Day is celebrated on the 25th May worldwide. The date commemorates the 1963 founding of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which, in July 2002, was succeeded by the present African Union, while amalgamating with the African Economic Community (AEC). The aim of Africa Day is to challenge perceptions of Africa and promote a more comprehensive understanding of the diverse culture that springs from this vast continent; the emphasis is on celebrating the positive.
