Congress's biennial Conference visits Tralee. ICTU has been promoting its Development Education project, Global Solidarity, widely at the Conference. The aim of the project is to strengthen Congress' and the affiliated unions' international solidarity work, as well as to play an important role in raising awareness of the causes of exploitation, inequality, poverty and climate change.
IT Tralee student, Alan Burns, is currently volunteering in Nepal. Alan is working with just-one and has been aided in his efforts by The Omprakash Foundation. Below are excerpts from Alan's online blog.

KADE (Kerry Action For Development Education) launched Development Photopack Volume 1 at IT Tralee on Tuesday November 25th, 2008. “KADE is delighted and proud to be part of this partnership with IT Tralee” declared KADE chairperson, Seán Lyons. Gratefully acknowledging students’ contribution to the work and their consciousness of inequalities in our society, he continued “Students have certainly put the action into development in Kerry.”
