KADE hosted EU partners from the Grundtvig-supported IDEAS project in Tralee in mid-February 2011.
Partners engaged in project work and meetings, kindly hosted by ITT. Some free time was spent visiting local cultural attractions; including a visit to the statue of St. Brendan in Fenit which featured a fascinating talk by Fr. Gearóid Ó Donnchadha, a prominent Kerry priest and sociologist. Fr. Gearóid has spearheaded a project which previously successfully raised funds to erect the statue of St. Brendan the Navigator.
Another site on the visitor’s itinerary was the Kerry County Museum. KADE and partner organisation Unique Voice , a language school based in Tralee, have worked to contribute a global focus to the project, with a particular focus on the UN’s Millennium Development Goals, the 8 achievement targets relating to key development issues worldwide and set to be accomplished by 2015.
