Irish Aid , the Government’s overseas aid programme, is hosting a multimedia exhibition, Khulungira: Harvesting Hope in an African Village, at this year’s National Ploughing Championships which take place in Athy, Co. Kildare from September 21st to 23rd. The exhibition, which features videos, slideshows and photographs, introduces the people of Khulungira village in Malawi who have benefited from advances in agricultural research.
Visitors to the Irish Aid tent can also participate in African drumming workshops, make and decorate African tribal masks and learn key information about the work of Irish Aid and how we are responding to the challenges of global hunger and poverty.

Tuesday 21st at 2pm: Bertrand Borg from 80:20 –‘Debating Aid’
Wednesday 22nd at 2pm – Patsy Toland from Self Help Africa – ‘How Development Works Through Smallholder Agriculture’
Irish Aid will be located at stand J167 from Tuesday 21st to Thursday 23rd September.
