Gemma Coyle and Sarah Reilly have joined KADE for a three-month placement. The third year ITT students will work on the latest edition in KADE's Photopack series, and the annual Vision of Africa event. Gemma & Sarah will produce short films documenting a visit by EU Grundtvig partners as well as upcoming KADE events.
Gemma Coyle
I am a third year student studying Interactive Multimedia at the Institute of Technology Tralee. As part of my third year I am currently working with KADE for my student placement to get my Interactive Multimedia degree and to develop my skills further. I am from Killorglin Co. Kerry and have lived in that area for the majority of my life. I plan on travelling after I obtain my degree and do some work abroad. My role in KADE will be to organise and manage and document KADE’s involvement with Africa Day 2011 and with the Photopack Project and film the Grundtvig visit which aims to develop an intercultural and intra-European dialogue and overcome cultural stereotypes and prejudices. I am very excited to work on these projects and I am really enjoying my time at KADE as it is a hugely inspirational work place.
Sarah Reilly
My name is Sarah Reilly. I am from Kilkee in County Clare and I am a third year Interactive Multimedia student in the Institute of Technology Tralee. I chose to study multimedia because I have a great interest in graphic design and photography. I hope to expand my skills in these areas and develop them into a successful career. As part of my third year in college I am fulfilling my work placement module in KADE. I think that spending time working in this type of environment will be very rewarding and will give me a chance to experience situations which I may not have experienced before. While working on the Grundtvig visit and the Photopack I will be given a great opportunity to see how people use their time and skills to help the community both nationally and internationally. I hope to get my degree and use it to travel and work abroad.
