CONCORD's Daniel Nutjen facilitated the DEEEP -organised seminar "What is our message?" on behalf of CONCORD. Representatives from twenty seven EU-based NGDOs were present. The one-day seminar consisted of a number of plenary sessions as well as break-out sessions involving small-group analysis by attendees of factors affecting the Code of Conduct on Images and Messages (CoC) as well as problems in its implementation and enforcement.

 On July 5th 2012, after an intense 4 month long campaign, the European Parliament officially adopted the written declaration on development education and active global citizenship, co-tabled by MEP Filip Kaczmarek, Catherine Grèze, Fiona Hall, Maria Badia I Cutchet and Michael Gahler. The declaration, which promotes the strengthening of development education policies, both at national and European level represents an important political milestone for the development education sector.

Kerry One World Centre is a member of The Irish Coalition for the Global Campaign for Education (ICGCE) who’s focus is to raise awareness in Ireland of the Education for All agreements in the education sector and in broader Irish society.

Local and Global links is an 8 week project managed and delivered by KADE and supported with resources from KES, Kerry Education Service and KASI, Killarney Asylum Seeker Initiative. Through the project participants increase their knowledge and understanding of international development issues.
