KADE to host EU Development Education partners

Kerry Action for Development Action will host their EU Accessing Development Education  partners for a project management meeting in Tralee from November 8th – 11th. The representatives will visit a Tralee primary school and secondary school – both schools have implemented a Development Education module. The visitors will meet with Deputy Mayor of Tralee Cllr. Mairéad Fernane as well as tour Kerry County Museum.

EU EuropeAid funding for actions to raise public awareness of development issues in Europe has been provided to a project which focuses on primary-level Development Education.

A 30 month long project, Accessing Development Education will raise awareness in Cyprus, Lithuania, Scotland, Ireland and Bulgaria about development issues and about the interdependence of EU countries and countries of the developing world.

Designed to stimulate educators and youth to take action in support of the developing countries, the prject aims to mobilise ministries of education and build capacity among educators to integrate DE in their lessons plans.
