KADE works with primary school teachers and pupils on various themes such as Intercultural Education, Racism and the Millennium Development Goals. We have a wide range of resources for this age group including culture kits from various parts of the world. Culture kits enable primary school pupils to learn about other cultures through stimulating interactive activities. We are constantly collecting and developing culture kits from countries all over the world. Currently we have the following kits:
• China
• India
• Kenya
• Nigeria
• Zimbabwe (under construction)
• Poland (under construction)

KADE aims to promote and support DE in County Kerry. It operates a DE resource centre with a well stocked resource lending library, located at 11 Denny Street, Tralee. A periodic newsletter is issued and a website maintained, www.kade.ie (currently being updated). Centre services include provision of outreach DE sessions for primary classes on a range of topics and provision of annual summer in-service courses in collaboration with Tralee Education Centre.
The publication of this resource booklet forms one output of the KADE Schools Outreach Programme. The programme aims to respond to the need for increased local awareness, understanding and skills in development and intercultural issues.
