KADE has launched a second volume of development-related imagery in Photopack Volume II. The Photopack features images captured in Ireland by second-year students from the Institute of Technology, Tralee. KADE launched Photopack Volume I in 2009.

Kerry Action for Development Action will host their EU Accessing Development Education partners for a project management meeting in Tralee from November 8th – 11th. The representatives will visit a Tralee primary school and secondary school – both schools have implemented a Development Education module. The visitors will meet with Deputy Mayor of Tralee Cllr. Mairéad Fernane as well as tour Kerry County Museum.

The KADE Development Education Photopack, Volume 1 has been developed to explore different themes of development in Ireland. The pack consists of 70 photographs, all were captured in Ireland and reflect today’s society. The Photopack has been produced with the assistance of the Institute of Technology, Tralee, Co. Kerry.

KADE initiated the Twinning the Kingdoms initiative, which involves the twinning of Kerry and Lesotho in southern Africa. The project involved the planning and initiation of many activities during the course of its inaugural year, (2006-7) with enthusiastic engagement in the project from the Lesotho Embassy and many public and private bodies. The project continues to operate on a voluntary basis as an independent charitable body outside of the remit of KADE.
KADE is the Irish partner in a EuropeAid funded DE project entitled Accessing Development Education. The project aims at promoting Development Education within the educational sector across Europe, focusing specifically on Lithuania, Cyprus, Scotland, Ireland and Bulgaria, 2008-11.
Nogugu Mafu, a Zimbabwean native living in Tralee, has been working with KADE as schools Outreach Officer since September 2005. Nogugu is a BA graduate of Community Studies from the IT in Tralee. She also holds a Secondary School Teaching Diploma obtained in Zimbabwe. In 2006, she completed a two year Long Term Training Course in Development, Popular and Non Formal Education. Nogugu is also a member of the Women Writers in the New Ireland.Nogugu is currently working with Transition Year teachers and students from Mercy Mounthawk in Tralee and Colaiste na Sceilge in Caherciveen piloting a Transition Year Unit on Development Education. The unit, entitled "Developing Local and Global Links" is based on the Millennium Development Goals and the two schools are making links with schools and communities in Kenya.
